Collective Stories | Pierrefonds
Collective Stories is an outdoor installation that revitalises public spaces while stimulating the Pierrefonds-Roxboro community’s involvement through cultural activities. This project provides residents with fun experiences through interaction with various aspects of the colourful modules. Each element of the system offers a means of constructing different landscapes, thus stimulating interpersonal relationships through community involvement. The modules consist of four distinct forms (representing the life stages of childhood, adolescence, adulthood and advanced age) based on universal architectural elements, representing the diverse inter-generational community of Pierrefonds-Roxboro. Each component then proceeds through four different variations that represent the four stages of the integration process within a community, from initial contact with the local population to permanent settlement within the same community. The modules can be adapted to the needs of the users. It is then possible to imagine an appropriation which would make it possible to create a setting for theatrical staging or a configuration that would encourage exchange and dialogue. The appropriation, therefore, makes this project intimately linked to the community. Ultimately, this installation aims to transform the members of today’s Pierrefond-Roxboro’s Community Project into the volunteers of tomorrow, closing the loop and creating a cycle of mutual aid in the image of Pierrefonds-Roxboro.
