D’abord, l’immeuble imposant de brique rouge était occupé par une communauté religieuse établie depuis 1886. Il a ensuite été converti afin d’y ériger un projet locatif, marquant ainsi une nouvelle étape dans l’histoire du lieu. Nous avons amorcé ce projet par une première phase : la rénovation de la maison des frères, afin d’y créer des logements locatifs lumineux et chaleureux, ouverts sur le parc Laurier. Dans un second temps, nous avons proposé l’agrandissement du duplex existant sur le même terrain, dont la façade principale en pierre grise est à préserver. Ce projet s’inscrit dans une démarche de valorisation patrimoniale et de durabilité, privilégiant la réutilisation des structures existantes et une relation directe avec la nature environnante.

At first, the imposing red-brick building was occupied by a religious community established in 1886. It was later converted to make way for a rental housing project, marking a new chapter in the site’s history. We began this development with a first phase: the renovation of the priests’ residence, transforming it into bright and welcoming rental units overlooking Parc Laurier. In a second phase, we proposed the expansion of the existing duplex on the same lot, whose main façade of grey stone is to be preserved. This project is rooted in a commitment to heritage preservation and sustainability, emphasizing the reuse of existing structures and a direct connection with the surrounding natural environment.
