The Téléport carries a magnificent visual experience of the urban landscape of Montreal. It is primarily tourist-oriented and focuses on the discovery of Montreal in an original way and allows to enjoy an attractive panoramic view of downtown and the St. Lawrence River, for the enjoyment of Montrealers and visitors. The location of this tourist facility in the Old Port contributes to the discovery of one of the most beautiful historic sites in Montreal. Thus, the cable car is not part of the heritage development of the sector by allowing the development of the last brownfields: Pointe-du-Moulin à Vent, Silo 5, Quai Alexandre and the Hangar overlooking the Quai de l’Horloge. This equipment consumes little energy compared to other means of transport. The cables on which the cabins slip, thus become the link between the emblematic buildings of the industrial era, on which the observing stations arise.
