Dans le cadre du plan directeur de la Gare Viger, nous avons contribué à l’étude du site principal de l’ancienne gare ainsi que de la parcelle voisine. L’objectif de cet exercice de volumétrie était de proposer une stratégie de densification douce, capable d’accompagner l’évolution du quartier historique tout en préservant son identité patrimoniale. Dans le cadre de cette étude de faisabilité, nous avons simulé plusieurs options volumétriques pour le développement des deux lots, explorant diverses possibilités d’intégration urbaine et architecturale, tout en évaluant les impacts sur les vues, les gabarits et la lumière naturelle. Nous avons également élaboré un design flexible, pensé pour attirer les locataires du secteur technologique et créer un environnement propice à l’innovation et à la collaboration dans ce cadre historique. En créant de multiples itérations, nous avons pu tester et affiner des solutions de conception répondant à la fois aux considérations fonctionnelles et contextuelles. Cette approche a donné l’occasion d’imaginer un développement respectueux et sensible au contexte, où histoire et modernité se rencontrent pour enrichir l’expérience urbaine du Vieux-Montréal.

As part of the Gare Viger master plan, we contributed to the study of the main site of the former train station as well as the adjacent lot. The aim of this work was to propose a strategy for gentle densification that could support the evolution of the historic district while preserving its heritage identity. Within the framework of this feasibility study, we simulated several volumetric options for the development of both lots, exploring various possibilities for urban and architectural integration, while assessing impacts on views, building massing, and natural light. We also developed a flexible design intended to attract tenants from the technology sector and to create an environment conducive to innovation and collaboration within this historic setting. By creating multiple iterations, we were able to test and refine design solutions that respond to both functional and contextual considerations. This approach allowed us to envision a respectful and context-sensitive development, where history and modernity come together to enrich the urban experience of the Old Montreal neighborhood.
