“It is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent that survives. It is the one most adaptable to change.” – Charles Darwin.
The World Biomimetics Foundation’s project consists of distinct functions that complete one another, producing a self-sustaining system, an intricate organization that operates on its own. Inspired and informed by nature, the HUB creates conditions that are conducive to an ecosystem of collaboration, between the people of various disciplines. Its inhabitants experience and have a balanced access to nature as well as its resources. Essentially incorporating the human being within the epidermis-like topology. The epidermal membrane consists of rippled dune structures with access slits and openings of various sizes. It is designed to give the optimal access to light, air and water, similar to photosynthetic processes, making the HUB ‘breathe’. As a result, the individual’s senses are efficiently broadened to encompass the entire project. A harmony begins to emerge through the careful analysis of the natural world’s solutions to achieving this efficiency.
